The OGL

The purpose of this video was to introduce current and potential customers of Okuma to an entry level automation offering, the Okuma Gantry Loader (OGL).

I enjoyed finding new and interesting angles to capture this (intentionally) repetitive product.

This video was captured with two Sony A7IV’s, GoPro Hero 12’s, and a DJI Mavic Air 2S.

An Automotive Passion Project

I’ve always had an interest in sports cars, from the speed, to the designs, to the engineering innovation. The opportunity arose to capture my friend Joe’s Porsche and Cessna over the course of a weekend and I jumped on it.
While a lot of the automotive content online focuses almost exclusively on “cool shots”, I wanted to allow a story to be told with beautiful roller shots to accompany it.

Creating Careers at Okuma

Okuma America Corporation is the kind of company that people typically work at over the course of many decades. In fact, they have a specific part of their corporate headquarters where those who have hit decade marks are displayed on a large grid of plaques on a wall.
This video was developed to inspire and excite a fresh new wave of employees to join Okuma.

Rob Hawse: Career Spotlight

In 2023, Rob Hawse, owner at Crafted Agency, was awarded the Silver Medal Award by the American Advertising Federation.

This award is “a prestigious, lifetime achievement award for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advertising”.
I captured and edited a spotlight video that was shown during his award presentation at the 2023 ADDY Awards.

The Okuma Shop

Richard Childress Racing is a professional stock car racing team that houses their own CNC machine shop, nicknamed “The Okuma Shop” as their machines are almost entirely Okuma machines.
This case study offers a high level overview of the shop’s capabilities and history, with footage of their machinists at work.

The Skeleton Machine

The GENOS M560-V is Okuma’s most popular vertical mill. This robust, accurate, and capable machine is featured in an exposed state for this video, with all the covers removed, revealing the “skeleton” of the machine. I enjoyed including one of my favorite editing effects throughout this video, 3d camera-tracked assets.

Banktel Logo Stinger

Fun, fast logo stinger for the Banktel User Conference, via 360 Visuals Inc.
Took the client-provided Illustrator file and separated all the layers to animate together in After Effects.

Huber Logo Stinger

Custom logo stinger for Huber, via 360 Visuals Inc. This animation plays off the temperature control products that Huber offers. It took quite a bit of time to get just right, but the final outcome speaks for itself.
